Jaguar’s F-Type, Audi tops depreciation stats, Dover fuel tax and VW scoops Up award

Tuesday, April 10th, 2012

Jaguar has announced that its new two-seater sports car will be called the F-type. The car, which will be available on car finance deals by the end of summer 2013, will be unveiled later this year. The decision to develop the F-type comes after the critical success of the British luxury car manufacturer’s recent concept model the C-X16. Jaguar’s global brand director Adrian Hallmark, speaking at the New York Auto Show, said that the aim of the car is to make the company a world-leader in the sports car market, with a focus being placed on ‘driving reward’.

Fans of the motor company will be looking for car finance deals as soon as the initial convertible model is launched from Jaguar’s Castle Bromwich plant next summer, although those that prefer a coupé might want to wait until 2014 when Jaguar will release an adapted model.

The Toyota FT-Bh, new Renault Twizy and Audi’s campaign for the A5

Monday, April 2nd, 2012

A Toyota  will always grab the attention of those looking for cars on finance deals, and the company’s latest concept car – the FT-Bh – should be no exception. While many companies are making moves to add eco-friendly options to their range, Toyota is wondering just how fuel-efficient a vehicle can be. It’s proved this by building a concept car capable of 134.5mpg and only 49g/km CO2 emissions.

Many customers searching for a good uk car finance deal are also searching for a car that won’t cost them the earth in running costs; it’s safe to say that Toyota’s new concept excels in this area, too. This is, in part, due to its aerodynamics and light weight but also thanks to its hybrid engine, which is a compact version of the one currently being used in the Yaris.

CLS Shooting Brake and baby Lexus RX expected, while BMW recalls 1.3 million cars

Sunday, April 1st, 2012

The stylish Mercedes CLS is to see its svelte suit gain an extra size with plans for a ‘shooting brake’ estate version of the luxury four door coupe. A motor that’s very popular with customers looking for handsome cars on finance, the CLS has been a big hit for the German manufacturer since its launch.

It isn’t the most practical car in the world however, with its focus on sporty styling and performance rather than executive saloon space and surroundings. The shooting brake will change this element in the CLS make-up, bringing a larger boot to the party. Extra space is likely to win it even more fans on car finance deals, as it will help the CLS to compete with traditional luxury estate cars, most of which will be unable to match its style.

BMW 3 Series GT on way, new Audi Q5 and NCAP boost child tests

Wednesday, March 28th, 2012

BMW is set to further enhance one of the most popular cars on the road, as it plans to bring out a GT version of its 3 Series. The 3 Series has been a sales sensation for BMW, with millions sold in the UK through car finance deals down the years. It now plans to add to the 3 Series line-up with a GT version, which will be made in a similar vein to the larger 5 Series GT.

A GT version of a BMW essentially means a hatchback variant, with increased ride height for a more commanding driving position and a large rear tailgate for added practicality. They also tend to be more upmarket than their saloon sisters, which will be good news for customers looking for exclusive cars on finance packages.

Budget impact for motorists, Datsun to make comeback and new Megane revealed

Sunday, March 25th, 2012

Chancellor George Osborne revealed his budgetary plans last week, with news that the previously planned increase in fuel duty is to go ahead. From August 1st, fuel will cost an additional 3.62p per litre, putting pressure on already stretched wallets and purses throughout the country.

With this increase in mind, car finance customers will be advised to look at more frugal car finance deals should they be considering a new vehicle. Diesels offer increased range over their petrol counterparts, while hybrids and electric power are offering increasingly attractive alternatives. Road tax is also set to increase in line with inflation come August.

Renault 5 to make comeback, Peugeot plan 508 hybrid and Leon gets in the hot SEAT

Thursday, March 22nd, 2012

Renault has been inspired by the renaissance experienced by the likes of Fiat and its 500, and now plans to bring back one of its most famous model names as its next small car release. The Renault 5 was a popular runabout in the 1980s; now the French manufacturer believes that a re-moulded version of the 5 would be an ideal replacement for the current Twingo. The car’s designers are hoping that the new model will help revive the fortunes of Renault and encourage customers back to the firm on attractive car finance deals.

While the new Renault 5 might be a couple of years away, development has already begun on a platform in partnership with Mercedes that’ll be used on its range of new Smart models. Renault sees the 5 as a spiritual successor to the original Twingo, with maximum space in a small, cheap package, which will be ideal for people looking for inexpensive, spacious car financing deals.

Skoda to launch SUVs, Ford Fiesta facelift, …

Monday, March 19th, 2012

Skoda has confirmed plans to launch two new SUV models as it seeks to attract new car finance customers to its brand. The Czech manufacturer confirmed at the Geneva Motor Show that it will borrow heavily from parent company VW for the platform of its new SUV, which will be largely based on the VW Touareg.

The Touareg-based SUV is sure to be a big hit with customers looking for quality off-road cars on finance, with a cheaper price than the VW to boot. It’s unlikely that the new Skoda SUV will offer all the luxury appointments served up by the Touareg, but the rugged nature of its engineering will be brought over to create a hard-wearing off-road workhorse.

Sporty new A Class revealed and Audi A1 picks up award

Monday, March 12th, 2012

The Mercedes A Class has always been a bit of an odd beast. It began life amid much fanfare as a spacious mini MPV with the prestige of a Mercedes badge, and was marketed as having more interior space than the S Class luxury saloon.

Unfortunately sales were dented early on by its treacherous habit of rolling over if a person suddenly swerved to avoid an obstacle. Luckily, that issue was amended quite quickly, but the A Class remained very much a car for acquired tastes.

Mercedes went back to the drawing board, though, as it looked to get a larger share of the car finance market that the likes of the Audi A3 and BMW 1 series have enjoyed in recent years. As such, the manufacturer took the opportunity presented by the 2012 Geneva Motor Show to launch its new generation A Class to the car buying public.
