Nissan has been on a bit of a role in recent years. Its Sunderland plant has been churning out unit after unit of the Qashqai, as the compact crossover continues to sell at an outrageous rate. The guys over at Nissan had every right, then, to get a little over-excited when releasing the first Nissan Juke back in 2010. The new model was hailed as a revolution in car manufacturing, ready to take the car leasing industry by storm by positioning itself as an affordable, good-looking and reliable supermini crossover. A couple of years on, does the Juke live up to the hype?
Well, put simply – yes. Revolution may be a strong word, but if there’s one thing you can say about the Juke, it’s that there really isn’t anything else out there like it. Its styling is brave, to say the least; although, on first glance, prospective Nissan Juke leasing customers may be taken slightly aback, you’ll notice quite quickly that most second looks in its direction are ones of admiration. Essentially, it resembles a rough-and-ready 4×4 chassis squeezed down to supermini proportions; an unusual fit, but one that somehow works.
