Audi TT: super coupe
There’s little question, even on just a quick glance, that the new Audi TT is a good-looking car. Car experts rarely agree across the board, but this is one area where it’s almost impossible to deny – the TT is one beautiful animal. But what about underneath the cool exterior?
Thankfully, the Audi TT coupé offers terrific substance to back up its looks. Its performance, ride, handling, quality and reliability all scored full marks in What Car? – perhaps an indicator of why they’ve named it their Coupé of the Year since 2007.
The engines are all good, but particular mention has to go to the 2.0 litre turbo fitted in the TTS model, which accelerates from 0 to 60mph in just 5.4 seconds and has a top speed of 155mph. For those looking for a more economical engine, Autocar recommends the TDI versions, which still manage an impressive 0-62mph in 7.5 seconds whilst returning 53mpg. Handling is also good, with strong grip and sharp steering combined with impressively tight body control.
The cabin of the new Audi TT convertible is attractive and well built but – although there are four seats – this is really a car for two. The back has a lack of leg and head room, so if you’re looking for a car to frequently ferry passengers then you might want to take this into account. For those that are not bothered by this, however, it’s a welcome option to have available seats should you need them once in a while.
The Audi TT deals in practicality as well – while rivals may sacrifice boot space, the TT gives you a decent size at 290 litres.
Audi TT deals will provide customers with a car that’s widely-acclaimed for a good reason. If you’re looking for great offers on a sleekly-styled, light-yet-powerful speedster, then it’s difficult to beat.
