Toyota: substance is King
Since 2010, Toyota has been competing for the place of largest car manufacturer by volume (worldwide) with General Motors – not to mention one of the most popular brands on the market. This Japanese giant came into existence in 1937 and has experienced a high pace of growth ever since.
The company prides itself on the reliability of its products and was, until the recent sticky accelerator recall, one of the most trusted car manufacturers – it is currently building back this trust and new Toyota models have seen none of these issues.
Toyota currently offers quite a large, affordable range of vehicles, and there are plenty of cheap Toyota deals to be found online for those shopping on a budget. Starting as low as £7,500 for the new Toyota
Aygo and rising to around £60,000 for a high-end 4×4 model like the
Land Cruiser V8, this is a brand to suit all needs – with the exception of the adrenaline seekers. Toyota has avoided the sports car market and chosen to focus on small city and family cars instead.
The one criticism that has been levelled against Toyota is that it sometimes allows style to take a back seat. However, quality has risen and the ‘substance’ of Toyota cars is almost universally held to be fantastic.
Road performance and interior design take priority for most Toyota models, which is no bad thing – after all, a reliable car is better than a stylish metal box. That said, the new
Toyota iQ is thought to be the start of a revolution for this manufacturer, coupling sleek design with traditional levels of quality.
If you’re looking for a nippy, reliable vehicle, then Toyota is the brand for you. Their city cars perform brilliantly and their 4×4 models rival Land Rover for handling and durability. You can find loads of cheap Toyota deals online – shop around to compare prices on car finance deals, and you could make some serious savings.
